Tungsten Copper Alloys

Tungsten copper alloys has unique material properties. A high level of temperature resistance is one of the most important advantages of tungsten, while the copper content increases the electrical and thermal conductivity. As copper and tungsten are not mutually soluble, the material is composed of distinct particles of one metal dispersed in a matrix of the other one.

Depending on its application, tungsten and copper are mixed together in different quantities such as 80% copper and 20% tungsten, 75% copper and 25% tungsten and so on.

It is commonly used in EDM electrodes, heat sinks, resistance welding, etc.
